IPL grounds by boundary size
The 29 grounds on this site that have hosted IPL cricket, ranked by playing area. The largest is Ekana Stadium in Lucknow (75 × 76 m); the smallest is Buffalo Park in East London (65 × 56 m). Holkar Stadium produces the most sixes per match at 17.2.
Boundary size is not the only thing driving that column — altitude, pitch, and squad make-up all move it — but the two track each other closely enough to be worth reading side by side.
Not every venue here is in India. Ten of the 29 are not: the competition has played a full season and several part-seasons away from home, in South Africa and U.A.E. They are in the list because IPL cricket has been played on them.
A caveat specific to this list. A rope is brought in for T20 cricket, sometimes by ten metres, so an IPL boundary is the innermost line a ground uses rather than its usual one. Three of the figures below are that innermost line, taken from IPL broadcast graphics — Wankhede, MA Chidambaram, Narendra Modi. The rest are typical positions. Each ground page says which kind of figure it carries, and where a ground's provenance has not been traced the site does not guess.

Two kinds of figure in this table. 24 of these 29 grounds were measured here from satellite imagery; the other 5 are figures published by the ground or its governing body.
The two are not measured to quite the same edge of the field, so a satellite-measured ground and a published one can look closer in size than they really are. Comparing grounds of the same kind is sound. Comparing across the two is not, until every ground has been re-measured on one basis — work that is under way.
